Quick answer: There is no single required order after the opening route. Choose Red first for the map and coordinates, Blue for trains, Green for the chairlift, or Yellow for tunnels; complete Black after the four coloured towers.
The order is flexible
Ordinary puzzle rewards can generally be installed in any coloured tower. A player-tested guide covering all five routes also reports that the towers do not need to be completed in one fixed sequence. The recommendations below are route-planning advice, not a hidden game rule.
Start with Red for easier navigation
Red unlocks the Map Room, where the group can collect the portable map and compass. This is the most useful first choice when you plan to follow coordinate-based guides or want a clearer picture of explored terrain.
Choose a movement unlock instead
Blue activates the train network, Green opens the chairlift and Yellow opens the large tunnels. Pick the system closest to the places your group is already exploring rather than crossing the island solely to follow a universal order.
- Navigation-first: Red, then the nearest movement route
- Train-first: Blue when your group wants the rail network early
- Chairlift-first: Green for its fixed aerial connection
- Tunnel-first: Yellow when underground travel is your immediate goal
Decision table
Choose the next tower by the problem the group has now.
| Current problem | Best next tower | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Coordinates and landmarks are confusing | Red | Portable map and compass |
| The group wants the rail loop | Blue | Starts all three trains |
| The route needs the fixed aerial link | Green | Starts the chairlift |
| The group is ready for underground travel | Yellow | Opens the large tunnel network |
Leave Black until the coloured routes are complete
Independent completion reports consistently place the Black Tower after Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. The exact order of those four can change, but Black is the endgame tower rather than an alternative first unlock.
