Quick answer: Complete the Red Tower key route, unlock the Map Room near 3560, 1425, then take the map and compass from the table on the right.

Prerequisite: finish the Red key

The map is not a loose pickup in the starting area. The Red Tower panel needs five ordinary puzzle rewards; it releases a gold key that must pass through five cutter machines. If your group already has five rewards, install those instead of completing the nearby sample route.

Follow the cutter arrows to the correct blue building

The cutter trail descends from the Red Tower into the red zone with two circular platforms and ends by the long red staircase. The Map Room entrance was recorded around 3560, 1425. Do not confuse it with the Blue Tower higher in the mountains: the destination is a blue tunnel-like building in the red area.

Take the portable tools from the right-hand table

Insert the finished key, enter the room and turn right. The recorded table holds a portable map, a compass and three laser pointers. The large 3D model in the room is separate from the item you can carry.

Split the navigation load

One player can hold the paper map while another handles the compass or a GPS. A backpack makes the map easier to keep between puzzles, but another player must attach the bag and manage the item on the wearer’s slot.

Achievement result

Steam’s official Big View requirement is “Visit the map.” Reaching the map satisfies the listed condition; looking through binoculars does not.
